"I dare not try to make the angels cry," thought he,

"because I'm scared they might get mad at me.

Instead I hope that soon I might be safe,

away from fear and shame and also hate

...and not to carry this alone but share the load."

Someday inside these words if truth be told

"Put Your Lights On"
Santana &
Everlast after a heart attack in '98

Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you lovers
Put your lights on, put your lights on

Hey now, all you killers
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on

Cause there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with a hand on my head
She say I've got nothing to fear

There's a darkness living deep in my soul
I still got a purpose to serve
So let your light shine, deep into my home
God, don't let me lose my nerve
Lose my nerve

Hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now
Wo oh hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now

Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on

Because there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with a hand on my head
She say's I've got nothing to fear
La illaha illa Allah
We all shine like stars
La illaha illa Allah
We all shine like stars
Then we fade away

Interesting...and what does the boy become when he grows up? Something here reminds me of that old movie Failsafe(or was it the book?) when the pilot after nuking New York says (before killing himself) I am the Matador...

never saw the movie...just read the plot since you mentioned it...wow...I see
(gonna flip a coin to see how the boy turns out)

For some reason, the 'boy' in this could have been a young soldier, sent away to carry a political burden without any knowledge of what it meant.

There is a poignancy to this that is very striking...

it just occurs to me, maso, how much the writer reads and the reader writes
